Dr. Kemp wants to make sure getting your braces will be the most comfortable way of putting them on our teeth. Dr. Kemp feels using a process called Indirect bonding to place full braces is the most comfortable and most accurate way of getting your braces. This method has proven to be most accurate way of positioning your braces in the most ideal position at the start of treatment and has been proven to help reduce the time you will be in your braces. Dr. Kemp uses bands only when necessary in cases when expanders or headgear are used. Brackets on the back teeth are more comfortable and more hygienic and that is why Dr. Kemp will make every effort to use brackets instead of bands. Dr. Kemp has been working with 3M to develop a specialized bracket system. Dr. Kemp uses this system of braces called self ligating braces. There are several advantages of using this system. One advantage is that this process of self ligating braces gives Dr. Kemp an opportunity to use less forces or pressure on your teeth therefore making sure you will have less discomfort while you are wearing your braces. Another advantage of this self ligating system is that your treatment time usually can be reduced because your teeth will be able to move more freely since this bracket system prevents a binding effect as your teeth move as compared to other brackets systems. One other major advantage of this system is that esthetics of the brackets has been improved. The beauty of using clear brackets is that they stay clear because this self ligating system does not require using any elastic ties that stain. Dr. Kemp is very excited about making sure his patients’ look great throughout their treatment. Dr. Kemp also uses braces on certain case braces that can be placed behind your teeth for maximum esthetics.
